Laser Photorejuvenation

Laser Photorejuvenation is a non-invasive, cosmetic treatment that uses advanced laser technology to improve the appearance of your skin. Ideal for targeting skin concerns such as redness, pigmentation, and sun damage, this treatment helps restore a youthful, even complexion. Photorejuvenation can effectively treat a wide range of skin conditions, including brown spots, melasma, hyperpigmentation, rosacea, and fine lines. The treatment is quick, typically lasting around 15 minutes, and delivers exceptional results with minimal discomfort.

Benefits of Laser Photorejuvenation

Laser Photorejuvenation offers numerous benefits to rejuvenate and revitalize your skin, including:

  • Reduces Hyperpigmentation: Lightens dark spots, age spots, and discoloration to create a more even skin tone.
  • Improves Skin Radiance: Enhances the overall appearance, making your skin look brighter and more youthful.
  • Stimulates Collagen Production: Helps reduce fine lines and wrinkles by promoting collagen and elastin production.
  • Fights Acne: Reduces acne breakouts by eliminating acne-causing bacteria.
  • Improves Blood Circulation: Increases blood flow to the target area while reducing inflammation.
  • Speeds Healing: Promotes faster recovery from other cosmetic procedures, such as chemical peels.

Laser Photorejuvenation is an excellent solution for those looking to address various skin concerns, including:

  • Acne
  • Birthmarks
  • Broken blood vessels
  • Age spots and liver spots
  • Dark spots from hormonal changes
  • Discoloration from sun exposure
  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Freckles
  • Hyperpigmentation
  • Melasma
  • Rosacea
  • Scarring
  • Spider veins
  • Unwanted hair

How the Procedure Works

Laser Photorejuvenation is performed using a special laser device that delivers targeted pulses of light to the skin. This light energy penetrates the skin layers, stimulating collagen production and encouraging the skin’s natural healing process.

What to Expect:

  1. Preparation:
    • You will be advised to avoid certain medications (such as retinoids or tetracycline) and treatments (such as ibuprofen) before your appointment.
    • Protective eyewear will be provided to shield your eyes from the bright light.
  2. Treatment:
    • A cool lubricant is applied to the treatment area, followed by brief, gentle pulses of light from the laser.
    • The pulses are delivered through a handpiece that the specialist moves across your skin.
  3. Aftercare:
    • It’s important to avoid sun exposure for optimal results and to prevent pigmentation changes post-treatment.

Treatment Duration & Frequency

Each Photorejuvenation session typically takes about 15 minutes, depending on the area being treated. To achieve the best results, a series of up to 6 treatments spaced about 2 weeks apart is recommended. Although you may notice improvements after the first session, the full benefits are generally visible after completing the full course of treatment.

The treatment stimulates the skin’s natural regenerative process, encouraging cell renewal and enhancing skin texture over time.

Who is Suitable for Photorejuvenation?

Laser Photorejuvenation is suitable for most individuals with skin concerns like hyperpigmentation, aging, or acne. However, it is not recommended for those with certain conditions or sensitivities.

You should not undergo Photorejuvenation if you:

  • Have certain skin conditions (e.g., active eczema, psoriasis, or open wounds)
  • Are currently taking certain medications (such as isotretinoin, which can increase photosensitivity)
  • Are pregnant
  • Have sensitive skin or are prone to light sensitivity
  • Have recently tanned your skin (either through sun exposure or tanning beds)
  • Have used retinoid creams in the past 7 days
  • Have very dark skin tones

Potential Risks and Side Effects

Laser Photorejuvenation is generally a safe and well-tolerated procedure, but as with any cosmetic treatment, there are some potential risks and side effects. These can include:

  • Temporary redness or swelling
  • Slight discomfort during the procedure (usually described as a warm, tingling sensation)
  • Pigmentation changes, such as lightening or darkening of the skin (usually temporary)
  • Blistering or scarring in rare cases
  • Bruising or scabbing (depending on the intensity of the treatment)

To minimize risks, it is crucial that you discuss your full medical history with your practitioner and follow pre- and post-treatment instructions carefully. Individuals with conditions such as skin cancer, susceptibility to keloid scarring, or open lesions should avoid this treatment.

Our happy customers

I've had my nails done by Loredana a few times now, the salon isn't local to me (30 mins away) but it's worth the travel. She is very skilled and really knows her stuff. I love my nails! Thank you and see you soon.

Rachel

What an amazingly professional and friendly beautician. Will defo seem me again. I am new in the UK and was with my beautician in SA for 16 years and was concerned that I would never be able to replace her skills and how comfortable I felt.... and Paula was amazing and I felt right at home.

Jill D.

Friendly and professional service with a very comfy bed. I have sensitive skin but it wasn’t even red immediately after. She helped me with a breathing exercise to stop it from hurting and she uses Lycon wax which is supposed to be less painful and more effective. Thank you
